My parents moved to the United States from Spain in 1961. I was born in New York City and grew up in Greenwich Village and Woodside, Queens. After attending Regis High School, I graduated from Columbia College with a B.A. in Economics. In 1987, I received my J.D. cum laude, from the Fordham University School of Law, where I served as Articles Editor on the Fordham Law Review.
After graduating from law school, I served as law clerk to the Hon. David N. Edelstein, former Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. I then joined the international law firm of Shearman & Sterling where I worked on M&A, antitrust, and arbitration matters. I then worked at the boutique firm of Hertzog, Calamari & Gleason on banking, securities, employment, accountant liability, and business litigation, and became a partner in 1996. In 1999, I joined Winston & Strawn as a partner, where I handled high profile complex litigation matters representing accounting firms, financial services firms, and consumer products manufacturers in complex, high-profile, commercial, professional liability, and product liability matters. While at Winston, I was resident in the Geneva office handling international litigation matters for over two years. In 2010, I began my individual law practice.
I'm a husband to a smart, beautiful, and loving wife, and a father to three amazing children, my greatest contribution to the world. When I'm not practicing law, I am a Boy Scout leader, teach religion to 7th graders at my church, spend time with my family and friends, read history books, and like to cook. I also am a native Spanish speaker and speak French.
